This years West Somerset Railway Spring Steam Gala is being held on Saturday and Sunday 8-9 March and Thursday to Sunday 13-16 March.

Saturday 8 March

Not all the steam was on the rails, this steam lorry was running around at Williton and is seen passing between D9526 and S&D 88.

Merchant Navy pacific 35011 General Steam Navigation is at WS Restoration's Williton Works for some contract repair work.  It's worth remembering that many locos operating today were in this sort of condition before restoration began.

S&D 2-8-0 88 was the spare loco for the first Saturday, the spare waits at Williton as the central point in case of need.

Small prairie 5542 - returning for a few weeks after too long an absence - and large prairie 4160 double heading a down train at Williton.

Visiting 0-6-2T 5619 again, this time at Bishops Lydeard waiting to come on to the back of an incoming train to work it back down to Minehead.

The up train 5619 was waiting for was brought in by LNW "Super D" 0-8-0 49395.

Sunday 9 March

S&D 2-8-0 88 and GW small prairie 5553 on shed and GW 2-8-0T 5224 on the loop at Minehead.

The large prairie was then joined on shed by small prairie 5542.

They were then joined by another small prairie 5553 - the Three Prairies at Minehead.
