![]() | Every year Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends pay a visit to the West Somerset Railway. Thomas is seen here during his 2003 visit leaving the station giving rides out to Alcombe Crossing.
Ben (aka Alfred from the Bodmin and Wenford), was working a short goods train to and fro in Minehead yard. Extraordinarily low due to his original use in the clay dries in Cornwall.
Ben propels his train back along the yard.
As Ben propels out Thomas was propelling in while a driver (well known to many!) walked along the platform. Henry (aka Dinmore Manor) arrives at Minehead - while on the platform is the pile of kit a guard and TTI carry around with them.
Paul (aka 5224) then came on the back to work back to Bishops Lydeard.
5542 was on station pilot duties, seen here in Bay Sidings with stock for the 15.55 to Bishops Lydeard.
No Thomas event is complete without the Fat Controller, Sir Topham Hatt, and Mrs Kyndley.
A smiling tail piece, even the brake van on Thomas' train was smiling, a great day for the young ones.
You too can be part of the action - new volunteers are always welcome, you can find out more on Volunteers, there's a big perk in exchange for your efforts - free travel! |
