It is as much about the current scene, mainline or preserved, ferries that are running today; as it is about the past - though of course Heritage Railways try to recreate the past!  Use the links on the left or above to go to the section home pages or scroll down this page to see which pages have been updated or added recently, within each segment there are numerous sub sections.  You can dip in and look at the photos or spend longer on the articles which are many and varied.

The 2008 season has started on the West Somerset Railway and WSR 2008 has some photos of the activity - updated 12 April 2008.

Spring Steam Gala 2008 has photos of this event on the West Somerset Railway.

There's a new page with photos of Wilts & Dorset buses at Salisbury in the 1970s.

There's a page for the West Somerset Railway's Autumn Steam Gala 2007 which was on in October.

A new section on Vintage Rallies has started with a selection of photos from a Rally at West Bay, Dorset.

The West Somerset Railway's Mixed Traffic Weekend on 15-17 June has its own page.

  There is a page of Guest Photos, ones that have been sent in by visitors to the site.  These will change as new ones are received, not all photos received will be included but, if they are relevant to the themes of this site, I'll try to put them up for a while.  At present there are some of preserved steam in Australia and Japan and some of Bristol/ECW buses.

   My photos on this site prior to August 2002, other than some early ones, were taken using a Samsung Digimax 800K digital camera or were captured from camcorder tapes. From August 2002 the majority were taken using a Fujifilm Finepix 2800Z, from June 2005 some are from a Canon EOS300D.  They have been compressed quite a lot for use on the net, however I am hoping to make collections of photos and video clips available on CD in the future.
