A visit to Stogumber station on a wet Sunday afternoon.

S&D 2-8-0 53808 appears to be lurking in the bushes here!

The problem with tender first running is getting a good shot of the loco.

The third day of the Gala and I called in to Minehead station morning and afternoon.

The pair of LMS 4Fs, 43934 and 44422, have just arrived with a down train.

43924 makes her way on to the turntable.

Part way round as 44422 waits her turn.

Reunited the pair head for their train.

They might be the same class but you can see differences between them.

Ready for departure.

43924's builders plate puzzles me - how could it be built by the LMS in 1920?  The LMS wasn't formed until 1923!

Large prairie 5199 receives the attention of the cleaning gang on shed.

BR Std 2 78018 was the next arrival.

She had a sticking snifter valve so went to shed for attention, 5199 took over her train but she was then fixed to take 5199 place in the roster.

The S&D Trust's Pecket 0-4-0ST Kilmersdon which used to shunt a colliery served by the S&D was giving rides in the S&D 6 wheel coach.

At the other end of Kilmersdon's train was the Trusts's LSWR Road Van.

This was the second day of the Spring Steam Gala, these are a few photos of the afternoon at Minehead station.

The 4F 0-6-0 43924 then took over the Standard's train ready to return to Bishops Lydeard.

Pecket 0-4-0ST Kilmersdon, resplendent in S&D Prussian blue, was giving rides in S&D 6 wheel 1st class coach No. 4 - here guard and driver pass waiting time together.

Duty over Kilmersdon and train head for shed, besides the S&D coach there's a GWR Fruit D and a LSWR road van.

With the Spring Steam Gala starting the next day visiting BR Std 4 2-6-0 and S&D 7F are on shed while resident 7F is in the head shunt at Minehead.

I took this one to show the difference in width of Standard and the 7F.

S&D 7F 2-8-0 53808 basking in the sunshine with large prairie 4110 which is awaiting restoration.

"Manor" 4-6-0 7828 Odney Manor is in the early stages of being stripped for overhaul and was a rather sad sight in the shed yard.

As 5199 had taken over the turn D6575 was being returned to Williton diesel depot on the rear of the train.

Later in the day 5199 was able to take over from the 33 and is seen waiting departure from Minehead.

53808 heads for the turntable after arrival with a charter from London.

Ex S&D 7F 2-8-0 53808 arriving at Minehead with a through train from London which it had taken over from 46100 at Norton Fitzwarren.
