| The 2010 WSRA Steam & Vintage Vehicle Rally was held at Norton Fitzwarren on 7 & 8 August. The first big exhibits on entry are the railway ones, this year l to r they were 4-6-0 7821 Ditcheat Manor which had just been purchased by the WSRA - she is awaiting an overhaul and not operational - Class 14 0-6-0 diesel hydraulic D9526 and a Sentinel 0-4-0 diesel hydraulic formerly with the Manchester Ship Canal. A view of the locos from the other side with the 1899 sleeping car and heritage goods wagons behind 7821. 7821 Ditcheat Manor. Only a couple of buses, first is XUO721 a 1958 Bristol MW6G with ECW coach body, new to Royal Blue as 2238 with 39 coach seats it was converted to C41F in 1967 then in July 1977 it passed to Devon General and was converted to DP41F as their 2902 which is how it is preserved. The other bus was much further from home - ex London Transport RF MXX8 RF366. RYD675 a mid '50s Bond Minicar with a single cylinder Villiers 2 stroke engine. A look under the bonnet, this car has a 250cc engine in place of the normal 197cc, it is also fitted with a dyna starter which saved having to use the kickstart which you can see on the left in this view. Next is a 1952 Austin A40 Sports OTA885, the 1200cc engine produced 46bhp, the aluminium body was built by Jensen. Next to it is a Triumph Stag with a rather more powerful V8! A more everyday sort of car - a 1971 Austin 1100. A rarity - DS3131 a Jowett Javelin Jupiter from the 1950s with a 1486cc flat four engine. 605XUX a Ford Thames E83W 10cwt pick-up from 1953, this has an 1172cc side valve engine. A 1980 Bedford CF/CI motorhome followed by a 1967 BMC motorhome. WAC787 a Ford Thames 5 or 7 cwt. van. WYA589 a 1957 Albion FT37 lorry. A couple of miniature Scammells and an Atkinson - fun for all the family by the look of it. Following them was a full size Seddon lorry NYD192. Finally, two views of steam in the ring with a variety of full size and miniature traction engines, steam rollers and steam lorries.
