The bus pages:-
| My main interest in Buses is in ones from the 50's, 60's and early 70's, these pages have a selection of photos of some from this period. Latest bus pics are on Quantock Heritage - some added 27 May 2015. Even though I haven't that many bus photos they still fall into various categories starting with trolleybuses, I used to visit relatives in Reading as a child and well remember my fascination with the trolleybuses there, the photos on here though are of those in Bournemouth where I was living during the last couple of years of their operation.
Next comes some preserved buses - ordinary diesel ones - that I knew in their days in service in the 60's and 70's before the National Bus Company destroyed the old identities of the various companies.
A new page, John Dawkins has let me have several 1970s Wilts & Dorset photos.
Guest Photos has some old shots of Bristol/ECW buses from Bath to Ardrossan. Western National and Devon General has photos of these two operators buses in the 70's along with some of Greenslades Coaches and Exeter Corporation buses.
Quantock Heritage (formerly Rexquote Heritage) operate a fleet of restored buses, several of which appeared before my camera during the Steam Gala Weekend of 23/24 March 2002 plus there are others being added as I see their buses in action.
Quantock Motor Services held Running Days over the May Bank Holiday weekend, there's a selection of photos from the Saturday on Quantock Running Days 2009
Photos of the Bristol Bus Rally 2009 on the Harbourside, a great day with a fantastic selection of Bristol buses on display and in action.
Crosville Running Day 2012 has photos from this very enjoyable new event.
To finish for now is a few miscellaneous photos of buses. I'd really like to have some photos of Hants & Dorset, Wilts & Dorset, Bournemouth Corporation and Provincial from the mid 60's to the mid 70's so if you have any I could use please send them to me at steve@shuddy.fsnet.co.uk, I would of course give credit, links etc. in return. Visit our Travel Centre for train and ferry times and tickets.
