Our stop with the Quantock Belle on Saturday 9 August 03 was perfectly timed for the sunset over Minehead.
The ordinary train crew (not the cooks and waiters!) took advantage of the break to get off the rather hot train and take the sea air, here the driver and fireman enjoy a glass of lemonade and lime while chatting to passers by. The sunset reflects on the loco, 5542, the Conygar Tower stands on the hill rising from the mist in the centre while the suns rays made patterns in the sky.
A last view of the sunset before we got underway again.
